You will find employment faster, if you have a membership at our unemployment insurance fund

We specialize in finding jobs for unemployed academics. More than half of our members, who become unemployed, finds a job after 3 months. At our job site, you will find vacant positions aimed entirely at academics.

We collaborate closely with companies who contact our recruiting consultants instead of advertising their vacant positions, in order to find their next employee. As an unemployed member of our unemployment insurance fund, you therefore get the opportunity to be one step ahead in your job hunt and let us match you with your future work place.

Transfer from another unemployment insurance fund

You can always transfer your membership from another unemployment insurance fund to Akademikernes A-kasse. You can keep your earned rights to unemployment benefits from day one.

When transferring to Akademikernes A-kasse, you need to apply for the transfer from the day you graduate and you need to apply by using our standard application form.

If you are a new graduate, you have to choose between a membership with graduate rights or a membership with the rights you have earned at your previous insurance fund.

You cannot change this decision at a later point in time, so you must consider it carefully.

You are always welcome to call us if you have any questions.

Salary insurances

Salary insurance is a supplemental private insurance you can use during times of unemployment. With salary insurance, you can get as much as 90 percent of your previous salary - including unemployment benefits and other benefits - for a year. There is a maximum of DKK 40,000 per month in addition to your unemployment benefits.

The salary insurance will take effect, if you are:

  • made redandant
  • unemployed due to illness
  • unemployed due to an accident

The salary insurance will not take effect if you resign or if you are made redundant due to fraud.

If you want to know more about your options, call TopDanmark at 44 74 35 50 or learn more about salary insurance at TopDanmark's website.
